Hemant Soren Hints At Cabinet Expansion, Likely In A Few Days.

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday hinted towards the expansion of his Cabinet likely to be done in next couple of days.

Mr Soren in Delhi held a meeting with Congress leaders regarding power sharing in the Jharkhand government.

While talking to media after returning from Delhi Mr Soren said in Ranchi,”Lots of discussions were done there. Everything will be clear very soon.. Let’s keep something for us to decide.”

Earlier it was being said that the alliance in the state is facing some sort of disagreement as Congress is demanding five seats in the Cabinet, but Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is willing to give only four.

“Everything will be done by agreement,” said Mr Soren

On the other hand, Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi will hold meeting of all newly elected legislators in Delhi on January 17. It is expected that Jharkhand Cabinet expansion will be announced after that.

Jharkhand Assembly polls: Campaigning for Phase-III ends, voting on Dec 12.

Campaigning in 17 Jharkhand assembly constituencies ended on Tuesday as the third of the five-phase polling in the seats will be held on December 12.

According to the Election Commissions latest updated list of voters about 56.18 lakh electorate, including female and third gender voters, are eligible to decide the fate of 309 candidates, including 32 women nominees in the 17 constituencies.

In all, 7016 polling stations have been set up to conduct smooth polling, an EC release said.

The voting will commence at 7 am and end at 5 pm on Thursday at Ranchi, Hatia, Kanke, Barkatha and Ramgarh seats while voters in the rest of the constituencies can exercise their franchise between 7 am and 3 pm, Election Commission officials said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi campaigned in favour of BJP. Besides him, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP Working President J P Nadda and Union minister Smriti Irani sought vote for nominees of the saffron party at different places.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha addressed election meetings in support of party candidates in separate areas.

According to police sources, adequate security personnel, including central para-military and the state police forces have been deployed for a smooth and peaceful conduct of the voting.

Notable candidates in the electoral arena are Jharkhand Education Minister and BJP candidate Neera Yadav (Koderma), Urban Development Minister and BJP nominee C P Singh (Ranchi) and sitting MLAs of different parties.

Former chief minister and president of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) Babulal Marandi is contesting Dhanwar seat.

Former deputy chief minister and AJSU party president Sudesh Mahto is crossing swords with sitting JMM MLA Seema Mahato from Silli assembly seat.

Former minister and Congress candidate Rajendra Prasad Singh is taking on sitting BJP MLA Yogeshwar Mahato from Bermo.

“Booth app” has been launched in 10 of the 81 assembly constituencies in Jharkhand as a pilot project and in the third-phase Hazaribag, Ranchi and Ramgarh constituencies will have the booth-app facility to give real-time voting percentage and other information, the release said.

The 17 constituencies, including two reserved for SC candidates and one ST nominees, are spread over eight districts.

The seats where polling will be held are Kodarma, Barkatha, Barhi, Barkagaon, Ramgarh, Mandu, Hazaribag, Simaria (SC), Dhanwar, Gomia, Bermo, Ichagarh, Silli, Khijri (ST), Ranchi, Hatia and Kanke (SC), an EC release said.

The BJP has nominated candidates in 16 of the 17 seats in this phase, a party leader said.

The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) has fielded candidates in all the seats in the third-phase, JVM (P) spokesman Saroj Singh said.

The opposition alliance comprising the JMM, Congress and the RJD have fielded candidates in the constituencies as per their pre-poll seat adjustments.

The AJSU party, Lok Jan Shakti Party, Aam Admi Party, Samajwadi Party, CPI, CPI (ML-Liberation), All India Trinamool Congress, Hindustani Awami Morcha (Secular), Shiv Sena, Janata Dal (United), All India Forward Bloc and some other parties have put up candidates in selective constituencies.

The first-phase polling for 13 seats and the second-phase for 20 assembly segments had concluded on November 30 and December 7 respectively.

The fourth and the fifth phases polling for 15 and 16 seats will be held on December 16 and 20 respectively.

Counting to the 81-member House is slated on December 23.

BJP to form Jharkhand government with absolute majority: Rudy

Asserting that the BJP would win with an absolute majority in Jharkhand, the party’s national spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said people would cast votes in favour of “good governance and political stability”.

He insisted that the double-engine government of the BJP at the Centre and the state would ensure an all-round development of Jharkhand.

“The BJP has a long-term vision for the development of the state. If the governments at the Centre and the state are the same then development becomes easier,” Rudy told reporters here on Saturday.

Listing the achievements of the Raghubar Das government, he said the saffron party has worked for tribal welfare, infrastructure development and agricultural growth over the past five years.

“I, too, had voted in favour of Jharkhand’s statehood when the proposal was placed (in Parliament). But the irony was that after its creation, there was no political stability for several years. The state saw a person without any ideology or party becoming the chief minister,” Rudy said, referring to former Independent MLA Madhu Koda’s tenure from 2006 to 2008.

The BJP, however, has given a stable government to Jharkhand over the last five years, the BJP MP said.

“This time, too, people will vote for stability and good governance. The BJP will form a government in Jharkhand with absolute majority,” he stated.

The senior BJP leader said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had always taken a “keen interest” in the development of the state.

“The decisions taken by Modi and his government has always has had a positive effect on the states and the country as a whole — be it abrogation of Article 370 or ban on triple talaq,” he said.

Taking a dig at the Opposition alliance of the JMM, the Congress and the RJD, he said, “Parties functioning around their families can never work for the state’s growth.”

He said that Raghubar Das during the second of the five-phase assembly elections, would win with a comfortable margin from Jamshedpur (East).

“Unlike other political parties, the BJP runs on principals and policies,” he added.

A five-phase election to the 81 Assembly constituencies began in Jharkhand on November 30. Voting will conclude on December 20 and counting will be held three days later, on December 23.

Organised by the Department of Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand along with Elets Technomedia, the healthcare summit witnessed confluence of key policymakers, international experts and industry leaders deliberating different aspects of healthcare including challenges and how technology could keep them at bay.

AYUSHMAN BHARAT AND STATE’S PLAN TO SCALE UP EXECUTION

Last year Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched Ayushman Bharat from the soil of Jharkhand. In a bid to scale up implementation of the game- changer scheme, we will be distributing golden cards to 57 lakh families of the State soon.

We were given a target to distribute golden cards to 25 lakh families by the Centre last year. A total of 32 lakh families have been added up to the scheme under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Raghubar Das. A total of 2 crore 19 lakh patients availed treatment facilities at both private and government hospitals under the scheme till date. There are 429 private hospitals and 219 government hospitals which have been empanelled under the scheme.

The State Government has spent an amount of Rs 215 crore to facilitate care under the scheme. We are also working to set up health and wellness centres in rural areas. Best part is not only initiatives are being announced but the Government also ensures its execution.

MOHALLA CLINICS AND BIKE AMBULANCE TO BOLSTER CARE

The State Government is also working on plan to set up Mohalla clinics where doctors will sit for two hours, providing treatment facilities to patients. In addition, plans are afoot to start bike ambulance and 100 telemedicine centres soon.

To encourage private providers, we have decided to provide a series of concessions. Those 300-bed hospitals having 20 acre land would be provided a fund of Rs 30 crore, free road facility upto five kilometers and electricity.

PRIMARY HEALTHCARE

We have started imparting training to 200 community health workers in naxal hit-Palamu district. With 20 days training, they are now being equipped in terms of knowledge to facilitate basic care in villages. Soon, we will be recruiting these workers for whole state to bolster primary care delivery system. In addition, the government is also working to open more medical colleges to train medical graduates.

I invite all state private agencies to join our mission to improve healthcare infrastructure in Jharkhand.
