Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi celebrated ‘Republic Day’; 71 years of Independence and Democratic Governance with a flag hoisting ceremony held at its new campus, located in Pundag. 

The Student Fraternity, the esteemed Faculty members lead by Prof. Dr Shailendra Singh and the ancillary staff gathered at the new campus to unfurl the tricolored national flag and celebrate this momentous occasion with invigorating speeches, a pledge and ended with a patriotic song melody as the atmosphere got engulfed in patriotism and pride. 

Major Achievements like the nation-wide appreciation received by ‘Unnat Bharat Initiative‘ for their incredible contribution towards the society, the huge leap into the Top 20 of ‘Most Desirable B-school,’ and the rise of IIM Ranchi as brand through corporate competition conquers were highlighted and celebrated.

The social responsibility Club of IIM Ranchi also organised a blood donation camp at the Khelgaon Hostel where students participated in huge numbers for the noble cause. Along with this, SOUL – a special-interest group at IIM Ranchi, inaugurated SPL-SOUL Premier League, on the lines of Gender Sensitization. To promote and celebrate Gender Equality, teams of both girls and boys are made to play the matches in the tournament. 

IIM Ranchi as always enthusiastically celebrated this occasion of national pride and paid due respect towards the nation and promised to uphold the Nation’s esteem till their very last breath at every stage of their life.

IIM Ranchi ranks among top 20 B-schools in India.

With rising competition, students aspiring to pursue a Management in Business Administration (MBA) are in for some good news.

The ninth institute of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi established in the year 2010 has made it to the top 20 business schools according to Inside IIM MBA Rankings 2020.

IIM- Ranchi is the first second generation IIM to be featured in the list beating its counterparts like IIM Rohtak which till two years was amongst the top 25 business schools in the country.

“The institute- IIM Ranchi is very serious with whatever it is doing and our main concern is that wherever our students go, they should be known as the products of IIM Ranchi. Institutes are known by their own faculty members and products. The faculty here also strives to mould the students not just academically but also prepare them for the society. It is our endeavour that our products should be appreciated wherever they go,” said Professor Shailendra Singh, Director IIM Ranchi.

The institute has also made it to T.I.M.E’s list of top B- schools in India. Making it to the fourth spot, IIM Ranchi is in the AAA+ category of institutes which offer high quality of education, faculty, infrastructure and also have a 100 per cent placement record. It has beaten institutes like Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurugram and Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Mumbai which are in the fifth and sixth place respectively.

“The institute has immense potential and students get admission after facing difficult competition. They work extremely hard while our teachers are like potters who shape them with inspiration and motivation. Ultimately the products come out as good professionals who have a demand and stand out in the industry. It’s very encouraging to see our efforts being appreciated,” added the Director.

Indian Institute of Management, Ranchi, successfully conducted the second day of the first edition of the leadership talk and industry-connect series ‘SAMAGAM 1.0: Tryst with the Business Leaders’ on a high note.

Yesterday, on Nov 9th, 2019, Marques, the marketing club of IIM Ranchi, inaugurated the three-day summit by inviting industry expert and marketing maestro Dr. Kushal Sanghvi, Business Head at Reliance Entertainment and Digital, to share his thoughts and experience with the students.

Today’s event covered the latest trends and innovations in all three business domains – Finance, Operations, and Strategy, and was conducted jointly by the respective clubs of IIM Ranchi.

The three-day event saw six industry leaders from various strata of the corporate world impart their knowledge and share their experience with the students of IIM Ranchi. ‘Samagam,’ an annual event, is aimed at connecting the budding minds with stalwarts from the industry and engaging the students with the current advancements and trends by making them aware of the risks, challenges, and opportunities in the field of business and entrepreneurship. 

Operations and consulting clubs of IIM Ranchi – Sankriya and Conundrum respectively– conducted multiple sessions with the guest speakers Mr. Paresh Bhagwatkar, Vice-President, Reliance Industries and current head of digital supply chain Digital Transformation in Petchem division, Mr. Anubhav Prashant, COO- Apollo Cradle & Apollo Fertility, Mr. Sagar Amlani, Vice President, Fenoplast Limited, and Mr. Pankaj Kumar, CEO at Vyapt Consulting. Sankriya, the Operations and General Management club at IIM Ranchi, launched its first-ever business conclave with the theme “Technological Development in Operations Management.” Each speaker presented his views along with a presentation (20 minutes) followed by a Q&A session (10 min).

The presentation focused on the advent of technology and the impact it has made in the industry. Mr. Paresh Bhawatkar talked about cloud computing, and the disruption in the field of business caused due to the threats from asymmetric competitors. Mr. Anubhav Prashant, in his presentation, talked about the evolution of needs with the changing technology, while Mr. Sagar Amlani kept his presentation extremely interactive as he talked about how to create business excellence by actually caring about the real needs of people.

Mr. Pankaj Kumar talked about the fast-growing ‘Gig Economy’ in the Indian context and ways and means to turnaround businesses by efficient consulting through the use of technology and networking in India. After completion of all the keynote speeches, a panel discussion of 30 minutes was conducted with all four speakers pitching in the discussion by sharing their ideas and opinions. The event was moderated by Ms. Vijaya Dixit, Assistant Professor at IIM Ranchi.

The interaction with the industry stalwarts continued as the Finance Club of IIM Ranchi, Finopsis brought on-board the Finance Prodigies Mr. Harshit Gupta, AVP, Royal Bank of Scotland, for an interactive session with the students of IIM Ranchi and endowed them with his industry expertise and prowess in the field of financial risk management. This was followed by another lecture delivered by Mr. Sandeep Chatterjee, Associate Director at Deloitte Consulting.

The day two of the event concluded with our last guest Mr. Vaibhav Jain, partner at Edelweiss Capital, delivering an inspiring session on Investment and financial asset management. The event concluded with the panel discussion and facilitation of the guests.
