PATNA: About 30 Biharis, who were among 680 people brought to New Delhi from Libya by two special Air India relief flights, arrived here on Sunday. The state government is taking care of them and made arrangements to send them to their homes.
All of them had been working as labourers in Libya and were caught in the ongoing violent revolution and government crackdown. Sources said they have no money so the state government directed the resident commissioner and state officials in Delhi to receive them at the IGI airport and make arrangement for their night halt at Bihar Niwas apart from their onward journey to Patna by plane.
The government also directed the state labour department and Patna DM to make arrangements for their travel to their native places. Of these people, 12 hail from Siwan, five from Gopalganj, two from Saran, and one each from Samastipur, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Nawada and Muzaffarpur, besides six others.
