CM releases Bar council's diary

PATNA: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday released the  Bihar State Bar Council's first annual diary at his chamber in the presence of advocate general Ram Balak Mahto, Bar Council chairman Baleshwar Prasad Sharma and its other members.

Bar Council chairman told the CM that the diary was published to mark the occasion of golden jubilee year of the State Bar Council. He said Bihar State Bar Council had pioneered publication of its annual diary, having been the first amoung the 19 registered State Bar Councils to do this. The State Bar Council was constituted in 1961 after the Advocates Act, 1961, came into force.

The State Bar council diary contains 330 pages of the diary section and 77 pages of directory portion containing the names of judges of Supreme Court and Patna high court, officers of high court registry, advocate general and law officers of the state government in Patna High Court, mebmebrs of Bar Council of India and State Bar Council. The directory portion also contains the particulars of state legislators and MPs from Bihar.
